WE ARE THE LOTUS PROJECT.
Musicians. Audiences. Artists. Humans. Stories.
We believe that a true, honest, artistic encounter can serve as a doorway to transformation. That’s our vision - to transform ourselves - and ultimately, our culture - for the better with powerful encounters with each other through the arts.
THE KEY IS THE MUD.
It’s dark out there, isn’t it? But that’s how we all begin. In the dark. And, often times, it’s where we return - time and again - as we change and grow. It’s murky. Messy, even.

But...

Mud has meaning. You could even say that the key IS the mud.

There is light. Beauty. Hope. Transformation. The courageous, persistent struggle through the murky water is what it is to be human.
Mission
Our mission is to craft immersive musical experiences in which we can encounter the world with new eyes and a renewed sense of wonder.
We do this through:

-
Immersive concerts in non-traditional performance venues
-
Compelling stories about our shared human experience
-
Highlighting historically excluded voices
-
Humanitarian partnerships that engage with and elevate the local community
Values
WE BELIEVE IN THE ART...
...OF ENCOUNTER
We value the strength of intimacy and exchange of vulnerability in sharing stories, discovering new (or forgotten) corners of the world, through bold, challenging, beautiful moments.

...OF RENEWAL
Stories of delight, wonder, the unexpected, and the shock of injustice illuminate our shared heritage and awaken the spirit.

...OF BECOMING
We value the power of the word “yet.” To be human is to change, grow, and become.

Roots
TRENTON MAKES
We are audiences, musicians, artists, and humans that live, work, and play in the Greater Trenton area and throughout the Northeastern Corridor.

Rooted in the artistic culture of Trenton, NJ, we are part of an innovative community that we believe will become the hub to bridge the trailblazing cities of Philadelphia and NYC.
Accountability

OUR COMMITMENT

DIVERSITY

We work to bring in projects, composers, artists, and performers that represent different perspectives and backgrounds to have meaningful conversations and build up our community. Musicians and artists come from throughout the tri-state area, but the core projects are rooted in the artistic culture of Trenton, NJ, an historically diverse community of cultures.

EQUITY

All of our artists are paid from day one. Period. We strive to host events that are for every person and are on a "pay what you can" model.

INCLUSION
We prioritize artists of our own time and historically excluded artists; and we strive to give revenue from ticket sales directly to Trenton non-profit organizations.
